Boutique & Cafe Sous Chef Job Description:
- Oversee overall production inside the kitchen when the Senior Chef is not on duty.
- Second in command / direct assistant to Senior Sous Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including managing and monitoring of staff
- Ensuring food quality and freshness of the mise en place and dishes produced in all outlets.
- Monitor, supervise, and coordinate with all the Chefs in charge per section in the absence of the head chef.
- Assisting the Senior Sous Chef in all kitchen operations and administrative work.
- Responsible for disseminating important information among the staff such as appointments, training schedules, and meetings.
- For ensuring that all equipment, machinery, supplies and cooking utensils are in good working condition and;
- Reports any issues regarding broken and damaged equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate with the Chefs-in-charge in all outlets for any issues or concerns of the ordering and deliveries of the food items.
- Responsible for monitoring the dispatching and receiving of the food items.
- Assisting senior chefs when it comes to writing and filing new recipes.
- Checks standards and as per the recipe sheet.
- Order supplies to stock inventory and with appropriately
- Ensures minimum waste and maximizing resources and hence ensuring overall department profitability.
- Monitors the practice of established with internal rules and procedures.
- Train new staff
- Assist the Senior Sous Chef in both culinary and administrative work while communicating with the involved personnel.
