Are you a passionate and knowledgeable wine professional with a refined palate and leadership prowess? A Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant in Singapore is seeking a Head Sommelier to lead its wine programme and elevate the beverage experience for guests.

This role offers the opportunity to deliver an immersive, world-class dining experience in a multi-level heritage shophouse in downtown Singapore.

About the Role:

The Head Sommelier will lead the sommelier team, curate the wine and beverage offerings, and work closely with the culinary and service teams to deliver seamless pairings that enhance the overall guest journey. The role serves as an ambassador of the restaurant’s beverage philosophy, combining technical mastery with personalised, attentive service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the sommelier team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Curate, maintain, and expand the wine list and beverage programme, including seasonal updates and rare selections.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team on wine and beverage pairings for the menu, special events, and tastings.
  • Monitor inventory, supplier relations, purchasing, and cost control to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Provide personalized wine guidance to guests, enhancing their dining experience.
  • Maintain the highest standards of service, presentation, and professionalism.
  • Stay current with global wine trends and innovations, integrating them into the restaurants offering.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Expertise in Wine & Beverages: Proven experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality, with deep knowledge of global wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic pairings.
  • Leadership Excellence: Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of sommeliers.
  • Curatorial Vision: Skilled at designing wine lists, seasonal pairings, and beverage programmes that reflect the restaurants ethos.
  • Operational Acumen: Strong understanding of inventory management, vendor relations, and cost control.
  • Guest-Centric Approach: Exceptional ability to engage with guests, anticipate preferences, and provide memorable wine experiences.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Works seamlessly with the culinary and service teams; fluent in English, with professional communication skills.
