We are looking for an experienced full-time distiller to take ownership of a brand-new distillery in Northwest of Sydney, NSW.
Distiller Responsibilities:
- Day to day operations of the distillery, including all aspects of production and inventory management.
- Managing and maintenance of distilling equipment.
- Sourcing raw materials, production, inventory management, bottling, labelling and packaging finished products.
- R&D of new products with beverage team.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of process SOPs.
- Be responsible to regulatory compliance and record keeping for excise, storage, production, and processing of all products with reporting.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedures and OHS.
- Day to day duties include CIP of vessels & equipment.
- Manage bottling and packaging as required.
- Manage screening of the sensory attributes of work in progress distilled products.
- New product development and innovation projects.
- Assessing the sensory impact of raw materials and production process on spirit quality.
- Maintaining quality and consistency of final product.
- Updating inventory availability forecasts and reports.
- Maintenance of a safe work environment by adhering to WH&S procedures.
Distiller Requirements:
- Must be an experienced distiller with a passion for the beverage industry.
- General Certificate in Distilling (IBD) or formal qualifications in sensory analysis, brewing, distilling, winemaking or alcoholic beverage manufacturing.
- Experience working in a brewery, distillery, winery or beverage manufacturer environment.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- A High-risk work license (forklift license) would be beneficial.
- A proven track record of sensory analysis including the processes and analytical methods used in the sensory sciences.
- Excellent office and analytical skills.
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
