Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and professional Head Waiter to join our fine-casual dining restaurant in Saudi Arabia. The Head Waiter will play a key role in supporting the Restaurant Manager by ensuring high-quality service and managing the front-of-house (FOH) team during service hours. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, fostering a positive work environment, and maintaining efficient communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of restaurant operations, exhibit excellent leadership skills, and be committed to delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Management:
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant’s FOH during service hours, ensuring excellence in guest service.
- Additionally, actively manage the dining area to ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service.
- Finally, uphold the restaurant’s service standards while ensuring compliance with Saudi law on health, safety, and hygiene practices.
2. Team Leadership and Support:
- Support the Restaurant Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising FOH staff to ensure a well-prepared team.
- In addition, assist with shift scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize labor costs.
- Lastly, encourage and motivate the FOH team, providing regular feedback to foster a high-performance culture.
3. Guest Service Excellence:
- Provide a personalized dining experience by proactively meeting guests’ needs and addressing service issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Additionally, build rapport with regular and VIP guests to cultivate a loyal customer base.
- Finally, participate in staff service training to maintain a consistently high level of service quality.
4. Operational Support:
- Contribute to managing financial responsibilities by participating in budget discussions and suggesting cost-control measures.
- Additionally, assist in inventory checks to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained without unnecessary waste.
- Finally, aid in establishing strong vendor relations to secure quality supplies while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
5. Event Assistance:
- Support the Restaurant Manager in organizing and executing special events and promotional activities.
- Additionally, engage with the local community to encourage event participation and increase brand awareness.
6. Safety and Security:
- Support a secure environment for both staff and guests by assisting with handling emergencies in accordance with established safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Waiter, Senior Waiter, or in a similar role at upscale dining establishments.
- Additionally, familiarity with fine-dining or fine-casual restaurant operations is essential.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
- A passion for service excellence and a keen eye for detail are key qualities.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software is necessary.
- Lastly, a good command of English is required, with knowledge of Arabic being beneficial.
