Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly talented and creative Executive Chef for a fine-casual dining restaurant in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will not only excel in managing the day-to-day kitchen operations but will also bring expertise in recipe development, production, and plating artistry. Furthermore, this role requires a visionary chef who can not only elevate the dining experience but also inspire their team while maintaining the highest culinary standards. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Kitchen Operations:

  • Oversee and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and adherence to the restaurant’s quality standards. Additionally, ensure that all processes run smoothly and align with the restaurant’s vision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment while adhering to Saudi food safety and hygiene regulations. Moreover, take proactive measures to uphold the highest cleanliness standards.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of quality ingredients. Furthermore, strive to build strong partnerships with reliable suppliers.
  • Develop and implement schedules for kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations. In addition, foster a positive working environment to enhance team productivity and collaboration.
  1. Recipe Development:

  • Innovate and design new menu items that reflect the restaurant’s vision while considering seasonal ingredients and market trends.
  • Continuously refine and enhance existing recipes for improved flavor, presentation, and efficiency.
  • Ensure recipes are standardized for consistent execution and accurate costing.
  1. Production and Quality Control:

  • Establish and monitor production standards to ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s quality and portioning guidelines.
  • Conduct regular tasting sessions to maintain flavor profiles and consistency.
  • Oversee preparation techniques and cooking methods to ensure efficiency without compromising quality.
  1. Plating Artistry:

  • Develop and implement creative and visually appealing plating techniques to elevate the guest experience.
  • Train kitchen staff on plating and presentation standards.
  • Stay updated on global trends in food presentation and incorporate innovative ideas.
  1. Team Leadership and Training:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Lead by example, inspiring staff with a strong work ethic, passion for culinary arts, and attention to detail.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback and opportunities for growth.
  1. Budget and Cost Management:

  • Work closely with the management team to set and achieve financial goals, including food cost, labor cost, and overall profitability.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Monitor wastage and implement waste-reduction strategies.
  1. Guest Experience and Engagement:

  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Interact with guests when appropriate, sharing the inspiration behind dishes and receiving feedback.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives, including social media content creation and special event planning.
  1. Cultural and Market Adaptation:

  • Develop menu items that resonate with the local market while maintaining an international appeal.
  • Stay informed about food preferences and dining trends in Saudi Arabia to remain competitive and innovative.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a similar leadership role in fine-dining, upscale casual, or luxury hospitality environments. In addition, a strong track record of managing high-performing kitchen teams.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training. Moreover, a solid foundation in classical culinary techniques and contemporary trends.
  • Strong expertise in recipe development, production management, and plating artistry. Furthermore, a demonstrated ability to craft innovative dishes that reflect both creativity and technical skill.
  • A portfolio showcasing creative plating and culinary achievements. This includes examples of your ability to elevate the dining experience through visual presentation and flavor.
  • In-depth knowledge of international and regional cuisines, with the ability to innovate and adapt. Additionally, a passion for experimenting with new techniques and flavors to create memorable dishes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills. These qualities enable you to inspire and lead a team towards achieving excellence.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail. In such situations, your ability to prioritize and stay focused is essential.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus. Furthermore, proficiency in multiple languages enhances communication with diverse team members and clientele.
