About the Role:
The Bar Attendant is a key operational support role responsible for ensuring the bar runs efficiently, smoothly, and to the highest standards at all times. This position plays a critical part in maintaining service flow, supporting bartenders, and ensuring the bar is fully prepared to deliver a premium guest experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support bartenders in the preparation, setup, and execution of beverage service.
- Ensure all bar stations are fully stocked, organized, and operational before, during, and after service.
- Prepare fresh garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients according to standards.
- Maintain continuous supply of ice, glassware, and service tools throughout operations.
- Clear, wash, polish, and restock glassware efficiently to ensure uninterrupted service flow.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing beverage deliveries in line with inventory procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and proactively report shortages or low inventory to supervisors.
- Follow strict FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation to ensure product freshness and reduce waste.
- Maintain cleanliness of all bar areas, including counters, storage spaces, and back bar stations.
- Support bar setup and breakdown for daily operations, private events, and special functions.
- Assist in preparing mise en place according to service forecasts and event requirements.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times.
- Support bartenders during peak hours by anticipating operational needs and guest demand.
- Assist in maintaining bar presentation standards, ensuring an organized and visually appealing setup.
- Handle fragile glassware and bar equipment with care to minimize breakage and loss.
- Support VIP service and high-priority orders with speed and accuracy.
- Assist in basic inventory counts and stock organization as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and responsible alcohol handling guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with bar and floor teams to ensure smooth service coordination.
- Contribute to a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented work culture.
- Assist in closing duties including cleaning, restocking, and securing bar areas.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in hospitality or bar operations is an advantage.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- High level of attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended hours and perform repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to learn bar operations and grow within the hospitality industry.
- Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends, and peak business hours.
