Commis Chef Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Demi Chef de Partie and Chef de Partie
  • Assist other chefs in the food preparation process
  • Cook and prepare a house-made vegetarian menu
  • Measures, mixes, and prepares meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings
  • Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage container
  • Do an inventory of kitchen supplies and notify superiors when stock is low
  • Help with deliveries and restocking

Commis Chef Requirements:

  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation
  • An experience in handling raw food is preferable
  • Proven professional kitchen experience and skill with best cooking practices
  • Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have great organizational skills
  • Able to multitask, and work in a busy environment
  • Has an active character, team player qualities and attention to details
